A diverse mixture of both manmade and natural landmarks are present in Tenerife, with one of the island's most notable landmarks being the mysterious Güimar Black Pyramids, a reminder of Tenerife's past inhabitants. Situated within the vast Teide National Park, Los Roques de Garcia has become both a major landmark and popular tourist attraction in its own right. Many people travel to the park to marvel at these unusual red rock formations, particularly the Cinchado rock, which is best viewed close up. A car park is located nearby, with Los Roques de Garcia being just a short walk away.

The Black Pyramids of Tenerife are one of the island's many mysteries and resemble similar structures in both Mexico and Peru, with six angular stone steps. Home to a particularly varied and diverse landscape, the mountains of Tenerife are amongst some of the most eye-catching natural landmarks on the island, including Mount Teide, the tallest mountain in the whole of Spain, and the popular Anaga mountain range. Tenerife is divided into eight main regions for maps, which are essential when exploring the many mountains, hiking trails and national parks. A magnificent gorge in the Adeje area of Tenerife, Barranco del Infierno features steep sides, impressive views and a number of historic burial caves. Also known as Hells Gorge, Barranco del Infierno offers an extremely popular walking trail, which lasts just over two hours, taking in some of the island's most beautiful natural scenery en route.

One of the most striking natural landmarks on the whole island, the Cliffs of the Giants are known locally as the Acantilados de los Gigantes. These dramatic rock faces stand of the western side of Tenerife, close to the Los Gigantes resort, which is named after the breathtaking cliffs. Regular boat trips provide the best way to fully appreciate the awesome scale of the cliff faces, which were once believed to be sacred.
